Service
The service I provide is an ad hoc service, meaning I respond
to requests as and when they arise. I currently do not provide
support on contract but may do so in the future.
Contacting Me
Initial contact should be made via Telephone or E-mail.
If I am unable to answer please leave a message and your
call will be returned as soon as possible.
Working Hours
I'm available evenings from 6pm onwards and weekends
as required but am unable to work during the day Monday
to Friday.
Working Area
My in-home service stretches to any residential
address within ten miles of Brighton & Hove. Charges
for in-home work are shown in the prices section.
In-Home vs Workshop
In certain circumstances I may recommend that your
PC is repaired in my workshop. An example of this is with
a virus infection. Rather than pay me to sit a watch your
computer do a 45 minute virus scan I would take it away
and only charge you for the time I actually work on your
computer, not the time it's working on its own.
Guarantees
Althought I don't guarantee parts myself, I have
a duty to organise and carry out returns procedures on the
customers behalf. Parts are usually guaranteed by their
manufacturer for 12 months unless otherwise stated.
Personal data is the responsibility of the customer. I will
do my best to recover lost data in such circumstances but
ultimately I can accept no legal responsibility for any
data loss or damage. It is the customers duty to put in
place suitable backup procedures.
If you require advice on backing up your data, I will be
happy to provide this prior to or during an on-site visit
at standard rates.
Time Estimates
I am able to provide an estimate as to how long
a specific job will take. But please note that any time
given is purely an estimate and should not be taken as definate.
